On this episode of Students of Mind, Jayde is joined by Laura Martin, a certified IBS consultant and creator of Healing to Happy where she supports women dealing with both IBS and anxiety. Laura talks about her journey discovering how to take control of her health despite what she was learning from professors and medical health professionals in school. She shares her knowledge of the misconceptions of gut health, dangers of restricting food, how guy health is directly related to mental health, holistic methods of healing, and the mentorship she performs in her program Healing to Happy for women dealing with IBS and anxiety.

Later, Jayde is interviewed by Zen. Together they discuss Jayde’s personal journey with anxiety and IBS. Jayde takes us through the first memories she has of stomach problems as a child, an intense stomach virus, going through recovery from an eating disorder, how anxiety and stomach problems relate, the progress she has made developing tools to keep up her recovery, and the realities of day-to-day maintenance of her mental health.
