Episode 38: A Conversation on Maintaining Wellness During Fatherhood w/ Brandon Holman and Bobby Brown

August 11, 2022

Show Notes

Breaking intergenerational curses takes hard work, healing, self-awareness, and compassion. On this episode of Students of Mind, Jayde invites two fathers who are creating space and community for other fathers’ looking to break those cycles.

To kick off this two part series about parenthood and its impact on mental health, Brandon Holman and Bobby Brown discuss what it was like growing up with Black fathers, how their current parenting style was inspired by their upbringings, the life shifts that came with fatherhood and how that experience changed the ways they view their own parents, how fatherhood has affected their mental health, and the ways they make space for their mental health now. Brandon is a wellness advocate, kundalini yoga teacher, and musician. Bobby Brown is the founder of Donuts with dads and a 2022 candidate for Inglewood city council.
