Compulsive social media checking, obsessive hand washing, and a fear of catching a deadly virus… For many of us these habits are new, for others it’s a dangerous trigger.

Everyone has been impacted by this pandemic, but what does it mean for people who struggle with OCD when government health officials encourage the behaviors that characterize this mental illness?

On this episode of students of mind, Jayde is joined by Litsa Tanner, a licensed therapist specializing in OCD and clinical director of the Santa Rosa Center of Cognitive Behavioral therapy. They discuss the concerning effects that the COVID-19 pandemic is having on individuals who suffer with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).
