On this episode of Students of Mind, we kick off a two part series covering autism and mental health. Jayde is joined by Dr. Jessica Myszak who provides a detailed overview of autism and the relationship of that diagnosis among other mental health topics. Dr. Myszak is a licensed psychologist with a practice in Chicago whose goal is to provide neurodiversity affirming psychological evaluations for children and adults. Her interview in the episode addresses many misconceptions about autism spectrum disorder and really goes into detail about what it really means for someone to be diagnosed with autism. We also get to learn how the mental health landscape is changing for the better when it comes to providing care for those with autism.
